Thailand, July 14, 2025 — The ceremonial handover of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) students and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universitas Nurul Jadid (UNUJA) and Santiwit Technological College were held solemnly at Santiwit Hall, Thailand, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. WIB.
The event was organized by the Thailand MBKM team under the guidance of Ust. Rozee and Furkorn Musor and was attended by key stakeholders, including the Field Supervising Lecturer and Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI) of UNUJA, Ahmad Naufal Irsyadi, M.MLI., Field Supervising Lecturers from Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo and Universitas Bhinneka PGRI Tulungagung, as well as representatives of partner schools where the MBKM program will be implemented until September 2025.
In his welcoming remarks, the Director of Santiwit Technological College, Mr. Mahteh, expressed his appreciation for the arrival of the students and accompanying lecturers from Indonesia.
“Welcome to the students and supervising lecturers. This program is important. Through language and cultural exchange, we can learn from one another,” he said.
The event was enlivened by performances of Nusantara Islamic arts, including traditional dance, martial arts, and salawat, as a form of cultural appreciation and promotion of Indonesia’s Islamic artistic heritage.

This year, UNUJA students participating in the MBKM program were placed at three different locations in Thailand: Novela Ramadhani at Sangtham Boarding School, Chana; Lailatul Mufarrohah in Narathiwat; and Nur Wulan Angraini, Inayatul Hidayah, and Rina Dwi Wulandari at Santiwit Technological College.
The highlight of the event was the signing of the MoU between Universitas Nurul Jadid and Santiwit Technological College, symbolizing a shared commitment to strengthening international student mobility and community service programs.
This collaboration is expected to strengthen educational ties between Indonesia and Thailand and become a concrete step in the internationalization of the pesantren-based university.
